This Dr. Phillips kitchen required more than a straight run of backsplash tile. Aesthetic Tile made detailed miters around the window and intricate cuts around the hood vent.

The finished mosaic continues across the cooking wall and beneath the cabinetry. The photographs show how the pattern meets the window, hood, and open shelves.

Project 02 · Shower rebuild for aging in place

Replacing a brick curb with a curbless entry

Materials & details: Curbless entry, reinforced framing, and waterproofing

The second project replaced a shower with a solid brick curb. The design goal was an ADA-style curbless entry that would support aging in place.

The rebuild included reinforced framing for future grab bars and a waterproofing system before tile. The gallery shows the prepared base and walls alongside the finished shower with its open entry and grab bars.

If the cabinets, counters, or adjoining floor are staying, we measure how the new tile will meet them. Windows and a range hood also affect the backsplash layout and cuts.

For a shower correction or aging-in-place update, we review the entry, framing, and waterproofing. A curbless shower has to be planned for the room. Reinforcement for future grab bars belongs in that conversation before the walls are closed.
